Summary

Bottom Line – Very young brewery so the menu is small and the beers are fine. But the space, location, and service were all stellar. Will go back despite not loving my beers.

RAD is one of the newest breweries to the Asheville craft brew scene. Since it’s not too far from the River or the main road over, it’s in a pretty good location. It’s kind of a cool walk up to it (see videos below) because it’s surrounded by trees and it’s kinda tucked in. The building is really cool and offers multiple areas to hang at different elevations. With indoor and outdoor options too. The beers I had were a mix of fine and good. They had a good offering but the menu was on the small side (no surprise for a new place). The one I was most excited by ended up being the worst, but nothing was bad. I was there right as they opened so I was the sole customer. The bartender and what I believe to be one of the brewers, were both really pleasant and gave me advice on places to go. I had to leave abruptly and they offered to pour me another when I came back since I didn’t have time to finish. Really great customer service. Another fun feature was the popcorn machine, complete with different flavor salts! It really felt like a place that I could see myself hanging at, going to trivia with friends. Ultimately, I didn’t love my beers so it didn’t rate as highly as others, but I will eagerly go back to see what else they have on tap.
